What is the best time to visit Puerto Morelos?

We are at the Caribbean Sea so we enjoy a tropical climate in this area. There is not so much temperature difference during the year (the average temperature lingers around 83° F – 30°C).

January – April

This is high season in this area, people from the North Hemisphere come to Puerto Morelos to enjoy the nice warm weather. Consider that more tourists will be around at this time of the year. Water in the ocean gets colder than the rest of the year but is still super warm for the great majority of people.

May – October

This is medium and low season, since it can rain more. Usually rain does not last more than short showers and the weather is always hot, so sometimes it is even nice to get some rest from the sun! Still nice to come enjoy the beach, cenotes and diving. You can get better rates and deals since it is medium and low season.

The hottest months are June, July and August and then during September and October it usually gets more rainy and cooler. Hurricanes can happen during this months, so you can check the forecasts. You should see the beach after a hurricane the ocean is amazing blue!

November – December

These months are usually considered to be the best times to visit Puerto Morelos and the Mayan Riviera. Since the humidity is lower and the weather is cooler.

High Season starts on December 20th, so Christmas and New Year can be higher in prices and numbers of tourists in the area.
